Bob&#8217;s Red Mill Organic Oat Bran Cereal is delicious as a hot cereal (especially when cooked in milk rather than water) and ordering it online from Amazon is cheaper than buying Quaker Oat Bran in my local supermarket (if I buy it with enough other stuff in my order to qualify for Super Saver Shipping). However, if you are using it for baking you should be aware that it is not as finely ground as Quaker&#8217;s. Sometimes this has an effect on the texture of your baked goods and sometimes it doesn&#8217;t. It depends on the recipe. I definitely prefer it to Quaker&#8217;s as a hot cereal because it has more texture.</p>

<p>When I bought it, I thought you have to cook it but instead its delicious even with no cooking. I eat mine raw, with kefir, so you could use it for instance in yogurt, straight from the bag. This means less processing, so you wont increase its glycemic index by breaking down carbs through high temperatures, and you will preserve all of its nutrients.</p>
<p>The price is good, with the subscribe and save it is cheaper than I could find in any local store.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve  been  on  this  diet  since  last  year  and  have  had  a  good  deal  of  success,  so  I&#8217;ve  eaten  a  lot  of  it&#8217;s  food.  Of  all  the  questions  I  get  regarding  Medifast,  the  taste  of  the  feed  is  probably  the  most  common.  People  want  to  know  just  how  bad  they  are  going  to  have  it  since  they&#8217;re  going  to  be  eating  five  of  the  plan&#8217;s  meals  per  day.  This  article  will  talk about  the  food&#8217;s  taste,  which  foods  I  think  are  the  best  and  how  I  improve  upon  the  foods  I  don&#8217;t  particularly  like.</p>
<p><b>The  Good  Tasting  Medifast  Foods:  </b>Before  I  start out  my  list,  I  need  to  say  that  for  the  most  part,  I  was  enjoyably  amazed  with  the  taste  of  most  of  the  foods.  I  think  I  expected  the  chalky  aftertaste  I  remembered  from  slim  fast.  If  this  is  what  you,  too,  are  thinking,  know  that  diet  feed  has  come  a  long  way.</p>
<p><b>The  Medifast  Shakes:  </b>The  shakes  have  a  very  pleasant,  rich  taste  and  come  in  a  few  dissimilar  varieties  and  a lot of  dissimilar  flavors  (Dutch  chocolate,  Swiss  mocha,  French  vanilla,  banana  cr&egrave;me,  etc.)  Of  all  of  them,  I  prefer  the  55  shakes  (which  is  the  mainstay  of  the  5  plus  one  plan)  because  I  may  effortlessly  control  the  texture  and  consistency  of  these.  I  am  likewise  competent  to  add  in  sugar  and  fat  free  flavorings  for  more  variety.  But,  if  I  don&#8217;t  have  time  to  mix  my  shakes,  the  ready  to  drink  shakes  (like  a  kid&#8217;s  juice  box)  work  just  fine  in  a  pinch.  I  find  the  shakes  to  be  rather  filling.  I  always  keep  these  on  hand  in  my  purse  or  car.</p>
<p><b>The  Medifast  Bars:  </b>If  you&#8217;ve  eaten  a  lot  of  high  protein  diet  bars,  you  know  that  a lot of  of  them  may  be  bone  arid  and  tasteless.  The  company  seems  to  have  gotten  it  right  because  most  of  these  bars  are  chewy  and  have  a  nice  texture.  The  flavors  are  gorgeous  good  too.  The  chocolate  mint  tastes  a  lot  like  Girl  Scout  thin  mint  cookies,  while  the  caramel  nut  sort  of  reminds  me  of  a  twix.  These  bars  are  also  convenient.  You  just  remove  the  wrapper  and  eat  them.  They&#8217;re  beauteous  filling  too.</p>
<p><b>The  Cappuccino  /  Latte  /  Hot  Chocolate:</b>  I  frankly  think  that  these  merchandise  helped  to  keep  me  on  this  diet  because  prior  to  this,  I  made  a  every day  stop  to  Starbucks  each  morning  for  a  mocha  coffee.  I  now  mix  these  productions  together  and  voila  I  have  my  repair  in  a  very  healthful  and  diet  friendly  way.  Some  of  the  cappuccinos  are  part  of  the  momentum  line  which  holds  a  few  extra  ingredients  to  boost  my  metamorphosis  even  more.</p>
<p><b>The  Medifast  Breakfast  Foods  (Scrambled  Eggs  And  Oatmeal):</b>  I  am  not  normally  one  for  ready  made  eggs,  but  I  was  exceedingly  enjoyably  astonished  by  the  taste  of  these.  I  eat  them  at  meals  other  than  breakfast  because  they  are  so  flexible.  Sometimes  I  will  use  them  to  make  an  omelet  and  from time to time  I&#8217;ll  wrap  them  in  a  fat  free  tortilla  for  an  egg  burrito.</p>
<p>I  am  a  huge  fan  of  the  oatmeal  because  it  fools  me  into  forgetting  this  is  genuinely  a  low  carb  diet.  This  taste  a  lot  like  Quaker  brand.  I  like  the  blueberry  and  the  peach  flavors.</p>
<p><b>The  Pudding:  </b>The  pudding  is  in truth  good  alone,  but  it&#8217;s  outstanding  if  you  add  fat  free  syrup  to  it  (think  caramel  or  raspberry).  It&#8217;s  also  very  utile  as  an  ingredient  for  low  calorie  muffins  or  cookies.</p>
<p><b>The  Foods  That  Needs  Help  /  Enhancement:</b></p>
<p><b>The  Cream  Soups:</b>  Although  I  actually  like  the  plan&#8217;s  chicken  noodle  soup  and  the  chili,  the  cream  assortment  soup  (cream  of  tomato,  broccoli,  and  chicken)  are  just  too  thick  for  my  liking.  I  add  water  to  them  and  will  add  salsa  to  the  chicken.  I  from time to time  add  fat  free  sour  cream  and  fat  free  cheese  to  the  cream  of  tomato  to  heighten  the  taste.</p>
<p><b>The  Fruit  Drinks:  </b>These  fruit  drinks  (in  cranberry  mango  and  tropical  punch)  have  too  strong  a  taste  for  me.  I  water  them  down  firstborn  and  or  put  them  over  shaved  ice  for  a  snow  cone.</p>
<p>Overall  though,  I&#8217;ve  found  the  Medifast  feed  to  taste  gorgeous  good  and  be  finelooking  tolerable.  Once  I  experimented  with  the  textures  and  additions  that  worked  best  for  me,  I  was  capable  to  eat  it  with  no  problems.  And,  once  I  begun  to  see  gorgeous  dramatic  results,  I  no  longer  obsessed  as  much  when it comes to  the  feed  or  it&#8217;s  taste  because  truthfully,  not one thing  tastes  as  good  as  thin  feels.</p>

Now, this review is for the Blender Express, not the &#8220;Plus.&#8221; The only difference is the attachments. My wife picked up a couple of these at Wally World after Christmas (2005). They were in a clearance cart for [...] each. I figured that they were probably pretty cheap and I&#8217;d have a backup after I burned the first one up. Well, a little over a year later, I&#8217;m still using the first one. I use it 3-4 times a week for smoothies and frozen coffee drinks. I have to say that I really abuse the little guy. My coffee drinks call for half of the mug to be filled with crushed ice. </p>
<p>It will make these drinks with a minimum of &#8220;crunchy&#8221; ice particles and they are quite enjoyable. I never expected it to last this long because, truthfully, from day one, I have been able to notice the &#8220;burned wire&#8221; odor coming from the unit as I continuosly overload the mug. Yet, it is still chugging along. Even at the full price, a year of this type of useage certainly makes it a good value. And, cleanup is extremely easy and the &#8220;make it and run&#8221; mug is really handy. Of course, for larger quantities, I fall back on the larger blender. If I ever do wear out both of these units, I would not hesitate to purchase another. </p>

<p>Just wanted to add this note. Two and a half years after the above review (makes the unit three-odd years old), we&#8217;re still using it!!! It still makes the smoothest frozen drinks. I guess we really got lucky with this one. Wong<br />I have been using the Back to Basics Blender for about a month now.  Previously, I own the Magic Bullet as well as the Shake and Taken blender.<br />Magic Bullet did not last after 2 months.  The gear got stripped out.  Shake and Take is still working but the container is long and hard to clean.  <br />I really like the 24oz container of the Back to Bacics Blender.  It is easy to clean.  This is really THE BEST ONE on the market right now and the price is quite inexpensive.</p>

I called the Back to Basics company (in Utah, I believe), and they said return it and we&#8217;ll send you a new one.  It arrived promptly and has been doing the job (smoothies with ice cubes) for about a month now.  So 3 stars after an initial 0 star experience with the first one.</p>
<p>Because of the problem with the first one and my impatience for a quick fix, I ordered the small Hamilton Beach personal blender, priced between fifteen and twenty bucks.  It&#8217;s a nifty item&#8211;quick, easy to set up, more convenient, practical, dependable, and far less messy than the Blender Express.  Hard to believe, because it looks cheap, flimsy and lightweight.  </p>
<p>Aside from concerns about durability, the Blender Express suffers from a design problem.  You&#8217;ve got to screw the container in upsidedown, which means: 1. Powder or anything sticking to the bottom of the container is now on the top of the container and won&#8217;t be blended; 2. When you&#8217;re finished with the blending, you have to unscrew it from the base, turn it right-side-up, and replace the base+blade with the screw-on cover for drinking purposes, which invariably results in some overflow and spillage due to the expansion of contents.  Wipe it off, but there&#8217;s still stuff dripping from the container, guaranteed to make a mess on you and your car.</p>
<p>Get yourself the elegantly simple, efficient, quick and clean Hamilton Beach personal blender.  Heck, if it fails in a year, it&#8217;s still worth the fifteen or twenty bucks.</p>

<p>There  are  galore  types  of  fad  diets.  Some  of  the  fad  diets  focus  on  magically  melting  fat  with  not  so  mystery  formulas  of  foods  or  compoundings  of  feed  that  invent  destruction  of  fat  cells.<br />

<p>One  that  cyber  myth  credits  to  Mayo  Clinic  is  the  12-day  grapefruit  diet.  This  diet  has  one  menu  applied  each and everyday  for  twelve  days  and  each  meal  menu  holds  a  grapefruit.  At  the  end  of  the  twelve  days,  you  get  two  days  on  your  own  and  then  back  to  the  diet  again.</p>
<p>Another  diet  that  focuses  on  what  you  eat  is  the  lemonade  diet.  This  fad  diet  allows  only  one  item  for  ten  days.  That  is  a  lemonade  made  with  maple  syrup,  cayenne  pepper  and  lemon  juice,  all  added  to  a  glass  of  purified  water.  The  creators  of  this  fad  diet  intended  it  to  cleanse  the  body  and  fetch  better  health,  but  once  weight  was  lost,  every one  jumped  on  the  bandwagon  to  try  it.  For  a  cleanse  it  might  be  good,  studies  on  occasional  fasting  show  it  beneficial.  As  a  diet,  it&#8217;s  the  horrible.  The  metaboli process  slows  and  water  weight  lost,  comes  back  quickly.</p>
<p>There  are  diets  that  restrict  the  intake  of  specific  foods.</p>
<p>The  Atkins  diet  and  the  South  Beach  diet  restrict  carbohydrate  intake  in  dissimilar  ways.  Atkins  merely  cuts  them  down  and  the  South  Beach  diet  differentiates  amidst  good  and  bad  carbohydrates.  Both  diets  integrate  phases  that  begin  with  starvation  and  fetch  you  closer  to  normal  eating  as  you  continue.  Long-term  restriction  of  specific  foods  may  be  dangerous.  The  final  phase  of  both  diets  are  close  to  the  normal  requirements  for  carbohydrate  intake.</p>
<p>Other  diets  that  restrict  specific  types  of  feed  is  a  low  fat  diet.  Low  fat  is  not  &#8220;no  fat&#8221;  and  doctors  and  health  care  pros  many times  prescribe  these  types  of  diets.  The  amount  of  fat  in  the  diet  necessary  to  maintain  good  health  is  share  of  a  prescription  diet.  Some  types  of  these  fad  diets,  not  prescribed,  totally  eliminate  the  fat  from  the  diet.  These  types  of  fad  diets  cause  galore  difficultnesses  including  depression  from  low  cholesterol.</p>
<p>Some  types  of  fad  diets  are  plainly  crash  diets.  The  lemonade  diet  noted  earlier  is  one  of  those.  Crash  diets  eliminate  almost  all  foods  from  the  diet  and  construct  a  starvation  mode  in  the  dieter&#8217;s  body.  The  grape  diet,  also  called  the  grape  juice  diet,  is  another  fad  diet  that  started  out  as  a  health  fast.  This  diet  restricts  the  feed  intake  to  not one thing  but  grapes  for  varied  period.</p>
<p>Another  type  of  fad  diet  uses  bad  science  as  it is  basis.  The  diet  plan  explains  that  a great deal of  foods  take  more  calories  to  digest  than  they  integrate  and  lists  all  the  foods  that  you  need  to  consume  to  make  the  magic  happen.  These  diets  focus  on  low  calorie  foods  and  genuinely  work  because  of  feed  restriction.</p>
<p>The  final  type  of  fad  diet  is  the  diet  that  tells  you  when  to  eat.  The  three-hour  diet  is  one  of  the  top  fad  diets  in  this  category.  The  diet  design  produces  consumption  patterns  each  three  hours.  The  little  meals  each  three  hours  create  a  reduction  of  spikes  in  the  blood  sugar  and  keep  the  hunger  pangs  away.</p>
<p>Another  diet  that  fits  this  category  is  the  &#8220;Nothing  after  6&#8243;  diet.  The  dieter  only  has  to  do not forget  one  rule,  eat  not one thing  after  6  p.m.  The  diet  states  that  feed  gives rise to  fat  after  that  hour.  One  reason  that  it  works  is  that  a  lot  of  diets  fall  isolated  with  late  night  eating.</p>

The book is very well written by Rachael, she seems to know her stuff and her new approach to the whole concept of dieting and actually sticking at it is inspirational really.<br />I started using her idea&#8217;s over two weeks ago, and so far everything is going according to plan, my weight loss isn&#8217;t drastic, but is constant and I don&#8217;t get hunger pangs, which is a big part of being able to stick at the diet. I think it was a right decision to go for this book and would recommend anyone else who has problems dieting to try it.</p>

But, as I started creating care plans, I found it pretty uninformative with not much detail suiting what my professor&#8217;s need was for our assignments. I then borrowed a nurse&#8217;s care plan book that she had used for her nursing school just the previous 2 years, &#8220;Nursing Care Plans: Nursing Diagnosis and Intervention,&#8221; the 6th edition of THIS book. I LOVED IT! It suited ALL my needs and provided NANDA diagnoses and definitions, as the other did not. I came on Amazon to see if it was available and saw that this new 7th edition was coming out. I had to get this new one because it would be the best of the best. And sure enough, it is! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to nursing students doing care plans as well as to nurses who create care plans as part of their profession. There are not enough good things I can write about this book. Highly recommended. I&#8217;m spreading the word to my classmates this upcoming semester.</p>

Ackley and Ladwig&#8217;s Nursing diagnosis handbook had too much information with many rationales that were simply not relevant in most cases. Swearingen&#8217;s All-in-one I bought first and pretty much let collect dust though I still have OB and Peds to go through and it might prove handy. Townsend&#8217;s Nursing diagnoses in psychiatric nursing was AMAZING for psych nursing, but not anything else. Gulanick and Myer&#8217;s Nursing care plans I use over and over. It is well organized and the online care plan constructor means you don&#8217;t have to carry it around with you everywhere. I L-O-V-E love IT!</p>

Many  people  hope  that  larger  amounts  of  these  compounds  will  have  a  more  protective  effect.</p>

<p>One  of  these  studies  found  that  the  probability  of  death  was  raised  when  given  antioxidant  treatment.  Doctors  said  that  the  antioxidants  may  protect  cancer  cells  from  injure  just  like  normal  cells,  hence  preventing  cancer  treatments  from  killing  tumors.</p>
<p>The  conclusions  were  not  conclusive  in  16  other  randomized  controlled  tryouts  that  the  researchers  found. It  explores  the  development  of  policies  that  govern  experimentation  involving  humane  subjects,  the  rise  of  medical  exploration  originations  and  funding  sources,  the  place  of  industry  in  furthering  exploration  and  constructing  it is  technical  offshoots,  the  role  of  the  federal  government  in  regulating  research,  and  the  philosophical,  ethical,  and  policy  issues  that  are  raised  by  the  exploration  enterprise.  Even  if  one  does  not  agree  with  Callahan&#8217;s  view  of  the  troubles  that  the  exploration  institution  generates  or  with  his  recommendations  for  how  to  rectify  them,  he  is  a  magnificent  teacher  who  challenges  one  to  think  more  crisply  and  deeply  when it comes to  the  aim  and  future  of  medical  research.  In  medical  circles,  the  term  &#8220;research&#8221;  evokes  associations  with  intellectual  accomplishment  and  social  benefit.  Although  Callahan  discusses  these  goods,  his  focus  is  on  a  darker  side  of  exploration  &#8212;  that  is,  exploration  as  it  is  pursued  to  excess  by  it is  players  and  backers  out  of  a  faith  in  it is  overriding  social  importance  and  that  damages  the  worth  and  influence  of  other  social  values  and  activities. This  conclusion  is  made  possible  by  a  persistent  and  expanding  dedication  to  research.  Callahan&#8217;s  prescription  for  the  condition  he  has  diagnosed  is  comprehensive  oversight  and  setting  of  priorities  for  the  exploration  enterprise  along  with  limitation  of  it is  promise  of  an  unboundedly  healthful  future.  This  prescription  requires,  in  essence,  that  excess  be  curbed  by  the  creation  of  limits.  For  general  persons,  Callahan  counsels  acceptance  of  such  limits.  For  example,  he  would  support  exploration  on  preserving  and  restoring  health  but  not  on  lengthening  life  &#8212;  &#8220;there  is  no  social  need  to  principally  extend  life  expectancy,&#8221;  he  writes. Corporations are driving the research for pharmaceuticals and treatments that will maximize their stock price. Far more is compromised when healthcare is driven by profit than by excessive altruism.
<p>Without doubt the healthcare system of the US is in great trouble. I just don&#8217;t think Callahan has found the source of the biggest problem.</p>

A  good  rule  of  thumb  is  to  eat  three  moderate  meals  each  day  and  two  healthful  snacks.  Stick  to  fruit,  vegetables,  lean  meat,  whole  grain  and  fiber-rich  foods.  Eat  nuts  and  cheese  for  snacks  rather  of  sweets  or  processed  foods.</p>
<p>Also,  discern  patterns.  If  you&#8217;ve  always  gained  weight  in  the  winter,  try  to  figure  out  why.  If  you  know  why,  do  something  to  alter  that  pattern.  Many  humans  eat  out  of  boredom.  Try  a  new  sparetime activity  or  take  up  a  class.</p>
<p>Big  holiday  times  take place  for the duration of  the  winter  and  this  might  be  the  greatest  culprit  of  all  when  it  comes  to  winter  weight  gain.  If  you&#8217;re  cooking  for  the  holidays,  make  sure  you  keep  raw  vegetables  nearby  to  snack  on  and  also  serve  healthful  dishes  as  alternatives. Henley<br />This book has a lot of useful and practical information, and maybe even a few moments of wisdom. It has the potential to be a useful tool for someone who wants to get and remain thin. The 12 points to follow are good, reasonable advice. I can see why it has gotten some flak for being harsh in a couple places. I was tempted to subtract a star for this, but since there&#8217;s a warning in the description, I figured I could let this slide. This is a self-help book for people looking more for a Larry Wingett style of advice than the empathy of Richard Simmons. The book does do a much better job of describing how to lose weight than Skinny Bitch &#8230;.. AND without all the foul language. Very worthwhile reading.</p>

It&#8217;s one of those things that is so simple you wish you could have figured it out yourself.  I wish I had read this 20 years ago.  As soon as I finish reading it, I&#8217;m going to read it again.  The best point to me of the whole book is that you CAN&#8217;T lose weight rapidly.  Your body will revolt and most likely cause you to fail.  I am losing weight without pressuring myself to lose 5 pounds a week, or count myself a failure.  I highly recommend this book!</p>

Free of all the gimmicks and protocol of the typical diet book, this book explores what it would take to become fat and also what it takes to become lean. It then calls upon your dignity and logic to make the changes necessary. Best of all, you won&#8217;t find empty promises inside.</p>
<p>Like his other books, LaVelle asks the reader to think. I applaud the author for teaching the truth about gradual and permanent weight loss, versus the &#8220;lose 10 lbs in 3 days&#8221; style that insults our intelligence and leaves you feeling cheated and depressed. </p>
<p>I use this information daily in both my practice and in natural physique contests. I have often thought about writing the definitive sensible book on this topic, but now I don&#8217;t have to. LaVelle knows what he is talking about and lives it as well. Bravo!</p>
